Manny's back and Johnny want's nothing to do with him
29 June 2014 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

***SPOILERS*** After being kicked out of the country as an undesirable alien convicted drug kingpin Manny Franchette, Robert H. Harris, has snuck back into the country with a new name and face to restart his drug operations. It's Manny's old friend and former partner in crime Johnny Cavell, Harry Bartell, that he want's to be his #1 drug distributor just like in the good old days but to his great disappointment Johnny isn't a bit interested.

Manny using strong arm tactics to get Johnny who's now a very successful business man, in the laundry and dry cleaning business,to join up with him has a terrified Johnny run to the police for protection that includes the man Let. Det. Frank Ballinger, Lee Marvin, who busted both him and Manny eight years ago. Feeling that Johnny is on the up and up Ballinger has him have around the clock police protection from Manny and his mob only to be kidnapped, right under the Chicago Police noses, beaten and murdered by Manny's thugs ending up at the bottom of Lake Michigan.

***SPOILERS*** It was in fact Manny, despite his plastic surgery, who exposed himself to the Chicago Police by trying to retrieve a can of pure heroin that he threw into Chicago Harbor when the police were about to close in on him. Not knowing that a beeper was planted in the can with sugar substituted for heroin Manny fell for it hook line and sinker. In a shootout with the police in his waterfront hideout Manny in the end ended up being shipped back to where he came from, somewhere in the Caribbean or South America, not in a freighter like before but in a pine box courtesy of Let. Det. Frank Ballinger.
