Makin' The Scene On The Sunset Strip!

One of the funnier episodes. The cop asking permission, Lucy and Viv making up dances, just a fun episode! Over the top 60s!

My Favorite Episode of Season 5

Viv comes to visit from back East, and she and Lucy try and track down the son of a Danfield neighbor who's fallen in with a bad crowd on the Sunset Strip.

This episode is a highlight of the lackluster Season 5 - in fact, it's my favorite of the season. I'm a sucker for any episode you can put in a Sixties time capsule and this one brilliantly exploits the pop culture of the time in a comical and slightly exaggerated way.

The airport and office scenes are not that funny, although Mooney has a great line where he refers to Viv as "a 150-pound canary". But once the ladies hit the strip in their mod outfits, we're off!

The street scene where Lucy and Viv try to bluff their way into gaining info is hilarious ("I'm Loose ... er,.... Lucy!"). Things get better inside The Hairy Ape coffeehouse, when two far-out, long haired boys use body language to ask them to dance. 1967 never looked so fun!

Les Brown Jr. Who plays Itchy/Herbie Walton was one of the Mosquitos in the popular GILLIGANS ISLAND episode "Don't Bug the Mosquitos". This entry makes great retro Sixties viewing when viewed with that Gilligan episode and BEWITCHED's "Hippie, Hippie Hooray".
