This one has significance as the first of many celebrity "double" shows (actually it's a 2-for) that would eventually become a staple on this series. You need to be a Jack Benny fan to appreciate this episode, because most of the comedy is thrown his way. Lucy does appear dressed up in the last act as a Sophia Loren-type Italian Bombshell.
This episode seems padded because the opening scene has Lucy on a TV talent show promoting a dog act performed by the local butcher that fails because the canine is uncooperative. The same talent show figures in the final scene but the episode structure still comes off as strange.
