Storyline

On a cruise where a number of engaged couples will be married, a man (Lloyd Alan) bails on his fiancée (Charlene Tilton) and expects his friend, the best man (Don Most), to break the news. The parents (Peter Graves and Kathie Browne) of a young engaged couple (Brian Kerwin and Erin Moran) try to stop their impending marriage. A contest promoter (Darren McGavin) considers taking a bribe and his wife (Debbie Reynolds) plans to file for divorce. Julie (Lauren Tewes) reconnects with a man (Don Most) she met on a previous cruise to Alaska. Gopher (Fred Grandy) is upset about having to be a judge of a contest, until he meets the other two judges (Ann Jillian and Dawn Wells). A couple (Ted Knight and Rue McClanahan), engaged for ten years, are finally getting married. Written by Glorified Gopher

A Marriage-A-Thon Trip
1 November 2015 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

The Family Plan/The Promoter/May the Best Man Win/Forever Engaged/The Judges: Part 1 is the first part of the second episode of The Love Boat. The guest stars appearing on it are Darren McGavin, Debbie Reynolds, Peter Graves, Brian Kerwin, Erin Moran, Charlene Tilton, Donny Most, Rue McClanahan, Ted Knight, Ann Jillian, Dawn Wells and Kathie Browne.

The Pacific Princess goes on a special trip from the U.S. Virgin Islands to Los Angeles wherein there are 50 couples who are about to make their vows.Among them are interesting passengers that includes the promoter of the marriage cruise who is trying to reconcile with his wife by having this marriage-a-thon trip;a couple who might not push through with the marriage as the woman is falling for Captain Stubing;a couple who have been perpetually engaged as one of them can't say the words "I do"; and Julie's friend who must act as a bestman to a couple but later realizes that the couple won't get married after groom runs off with an ex-girlfriend.It also includes a groom's father and a bride's mother who are trying to talk his children out into marrying but later realize that they themselves have fallen in love.

The first part provides a lot of interesting characters that the viewer can only await of what will happen next in the second part as this interesting trip becomes exciting with the colorful characters we have on the cruise.
