Saved by the scenery

I think it's a little too convenient that Rossi just happens to have an old friend working in the fields. And it's even more convenient that Mrs. Pynchon happens to be on the board of regents involved with selling farm equipment...seemed a bit far-fetched. This said, I do like featuring a story about the field workers and their labor struggles, but it just seemed a little overdone in spots. Having them all thrown in jail, with Rossi trying to interview the labor leader through the bars was too much. So was the funeral procession scene after one of the workers had been killed. I just don't think it happens this way in the fields. The upside is that the scenery and on- location filming was gorgeous.
