Several times, Athena refers to the cute way that Dr Smith 'wiggles' his nose. This is a nod to Bewitched (1964). There is also a similar 'twitch' sound effect when Dr Smith wiggles his nose like Samantha does on 'Bewitched'.
Smith intones, "The moving finger writes, and having writ moves on." This begining of a famous line from "The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam" simply states that once done can not be undone.
This episode features a return from the floating green space lady who was last seen in the Season 2 opener, Wild Adventure (1966).
There were three scenes cut from this episode when it ran overtime. These scenes explained why Doctor Smith became more friendly towards Athena after he learned her ability to see into the future.
