Longstreet learns a martial art

Cast changes were made for the series - Peter Mark Richman takes on the role of Duke Paige, the manager of the Great Pacific Insurance Company and Marlyn Mason now has the role of Nikki Bell, Longstreet's assistant. A welcome new character is the mildly curmudgeonly housekeeper Mrs. Kingston played by the ever reliable character actor Ann Doran. It is Mrs. Kingston who adds a bit of humor to the series. Longstreet is investigating a series of thefts on the docks and one evening he is waylaid by three thugs who then badly begin beating him. Fortunately, a martial arts instructor, Li Tsung, just happens by and quickly dispatches the thugs. Longstreet hires Li Tsung (Bruce Lee) to teach him the art of Jeet Kon Do ( the Way of the Intercepting Fist). The episode is more about the martial arts lessons than about the investigation into the thefts but that's okay as it was interesting to see and hear Li Tsung expound on the theory and techniques of Jeet Kon Do - a martial arts method that Lee actually invented. The final fight between Longstreet and the leader of the dock thefts ring was interesting but not entirely believable. Lou Gosset, Jr. had a good role as Sgt. Corey. An entertaining episode.
