The football game in the beginning of the episode in which the, then fictional, Jaguars win the championship is actually footage of the October 17, 1971 NFL game between the Dallas Cowboys and the New Orleans Saints at Tulane Stadium, with the Saints representing the "Jaguars." What is shown as the final winning touchdown was in reality the first scoring play of the game; a 29 yard TD pass from the Saints' #8 Archie Manning to #38 Tony Baker in the first quarter.
Near the end of the episode, the magazine that Jim Collins is reading in the courtyard is the June 1971 issue of Esquire, with the cover story "Ralph Nader can be the next President of the United States" by Gore Vidal.
The character of Jim Collins is 36 years old, according to a line in the script. Robert Horton was 48 when he portrayed the character here.
