The Ranger and Tonto have a two fold problem in this episode. First, they have to protect legendary but too old marshal Sam Masters from outlaw Gil Ryan who is gunning for him. Ryan knows that Sam is afflicted with rheumatism and can't draw his gun. Second, Tom Bartlett, the son of Slim Bartlett, Sam's best friend, Is about to join up with Ryan and he has to be convinced to stay honest. Ryan also has big gold robbery planned. The outcome of this episode will depend upon which way Tom decides to go.
