Rancher Jay Thomasson is worried. Someone has been robbing stages and murdering the driver and passengers, then leaving behind a pair of black dice. This was the trademark of notorious Texas outlaw Dice Dawson many years ago. Only Jay's wife Nellie knows that he is actually Dice Dawson. But he served a prison term and is now an honest rancher with a new name. Supposedly honest businessman Ken Elliott knows the truth about Jay and is actually having his henchman Jack Duff commit the robberies. When a US marshal is due to arrive with photos of Dice, Elliott and Duff plan to bushwhack him and blame that on Dice. But The Ranger and Tonto interfere with that plan. Now they have to try to figure a way to unravel this mess and find out who is really committing these crimes. Harry Carey Jr. Plays Jay. Watch the final scene to see him to fold his arms. That was a tribute to his father, who always did that in his movies. Pretty Barbara Eiler is Nellie. She was active in radio as well as TV and movies. Barbara looked and sounded a lot like actress Patricia Barry. Sometimes I can't tell which one it is when I see one of them in an old TV show. This is among the best of the season 4 episodes.
