The Lone Ranger and Tonto have a lot to deal with in this episode. A renegade white man named Cantrell, but called Crazy Wolf by the Mescalero Apaches, lives with the tribe. He wants to control the Indians by slowly poisoning the chief and then dominating the chief's grandson, Juan. Our heroes want Cantrell/Crazy Wolf to face white man's justice. But they are greatly hindered by an inexperienced army Lieutenant and a foolish major, both of whom think they are outlaws. To prevent an all out war, The Ranger and Tonto must take the ill chief in a wagon to Las Cruces for treatment by the doctor there. But Crazy Wolf will try to stop them them in their "Journey of the Dead Man." Will these army officers ever see the truth? That Crazy Wolf is a dangerous opponent and The Ranger and Tonto will have to be on their guard all the way across the desert.
