Cavalry Captain Davis and two enlisted men rob a prospector and his wife of gold. The Ranger and Tonto can't understand why their old friend Captain Davis would desert and turn to a life of crime. He has a wife and young son back at nearby Fort Brady. The son, Tim, wears a play officers uniform complete with a kepi and shoulder straps. Tim is determined to find his father and clear his name. The Ranger disguises himself as an old prospector and borrows a wagon to lure the outlaws into a trap. It fails because Tim stowed away in the wagon, but they learn that the outlaw Captain Davis is an imposter. The Ranger and Tonto, now accompanied by the persistent Tim, will have to follow the outlaws to find out what happened to the real Captain Davis. This is an entertaining episode and young child actor Paul Engle makes a likable Tim Davis.
