Career criminal Flint Foster has broken out of prison and been on the run for two weeks, successfully eluding capture by deceiving his pursuers into thinking he's headed to the border. Flint stops off at the ranchhouse of his law-abiding brother Roy and his pretty wife, Edie. They have just sold cattle for $1000 in gold in order to make their last payment, and when the Lone RAnger shows up, Edie hides the gold inside a cake she's baking.
