- Lois witnesses a murder, and writes a story about it. Realizing this will make her a target, Clark and Perry work together to protect Lois, a task made more difficult because Lois does not believe that the killer is coming after her.
- During an interview with an eccentric scientist, Lois unwittingly learns of a great conspiracy to destroy the environment and becomes a witness to her interviewee's murder. Once her story is published, she becomes the target that must be eliminated at all cost. Lois and Clark must race against time to unearth the conspiracy while evading the assassin who has been ordered to kill Lois.—Ploy P.
- Lois lands and interview with reclusive, eccentric scientist, Vincent Winninger. But there are two important things that she doesn't know: First, Winninger is somewhat of a womanizer. Second, Barbara Trevino, a former lover, has put out a contract to assassinate Winninger. While at the interview, Winninger "spills" some ice tea on her outfit so that he can touch her in an attempt to look helpful. Lois wants no part of this and excuses herself to the bathroom. While she there, someone sneaks into Winninger's home and kills him. She gets a good look at him because she is hiding when he comes into the restroom to clean up after executing the takeout. It seems that Trevino is up for heading up the Rainforest Consortium. She wants that position because it will allow her to take advantage of underhanded actions that will allow mining to take place on consortium lands. Winninger is aware of this and has proof of her plans. Lois identifies the killer, Winninger's assistant, Dr. Hubert. He, however, has an ironclad alibi that he was in Washington DC with the Vice President. Lois publishes the story and is now a target for the people who murdered Winninger. Perry and Clark work together to safeguard Lois while they work to identify who the real assassin is. Clark saves Lois twice - once an accidental shove from a skateboarder that knocks her into the path of an oncoming truck, and again when a stranger in the crowd opens fire on Lois. They finally deduce who the culprit is - Sebastion Finn. He was a young-adult colleague of both Winninger and Trevino. He was known as Mr. Makeup because he could transform himself to look like anyone. Lois is taken in when Finn disguises himself as her apartment building supervisor. More scared than ever, she goes to Clark's apartment to spend the night. With the help of Superman, they manage to find Finn and arrest him, as well as Barbara Trevino. She had arranged for Finn to kill Winninger.—Garon Smith
