So great episode when it comes to Superman once again having problems with his powers. The story is Perry Whites son gets his hands on a piece of Red Kryptonite and uses it to give Superman some glitches where he has trouble controlling his powers. Showing Clark dealing with the thought of being unable to help people in need shows you how much he cares, and Lois is by his side helping her husband through this. Its very touchy and why I gave this an 8. But I had to take a point away for the horrible ending.

So in the last act, Mr. Gadget and his son plot to destroy Metropolis if they don't pay him 1 billion dollars! The problem with this plot is, 1) his device can only destroy one building at a time, and 2) has to be pretty close to the target for it to work. So when he threated the blow up the 'Hall of Justice' they need Perry's son and his red kryptonite to be there to stop Superman. The police, clear the building but everyone is hanging around outside the building when they set off the device and Superman lands and uses his Xray vision to find it, but Perry's son hesitates and Superman exposes the device. Meanwhile the Mayor has ordered police snipers with Green Kryptonite anumitin to be ready to shoot Superman if he "Looses control of his powers". Finally Jerry White relents when Mr. Gadget threatens to kill Perry if Jerry doesn't comply. Considering the lack of a threat Mr. Gadget is this threat is idle. But the worst offsens happens when, after Jerry opens the box, Superman looses his power. The problem I have is this: The device has now been exposed, it is CLEARLY what is causing the building to crumble, there are HUNDREDS of people standing around, and police and no one moves to take a crowbar to the device? Also neither does Superman who is just standing there trying to use his heat vision. Just some bad writing.
