Quotes

Laura Ingalls Wilder: How are you getting along with Nancy?
Nellie Oleson Dalton: Don't ask!
Laura Ingalls Wilder: That bad, huh?
Nellie Oleson Dalton: That bad.
Laura Ingalls Wilder: Well, if it's any consolation to you, she does not get along with anyone.
Nellie Oleson Dalton: I don't blame her. It's mother. She did it to me, and now she's doing the same thing with Nancy!
Laura Ingalls Wilder: You were never that bad.
Nellie Oleson Dalton: I was hoping you'd say that.

Nellie and Nancy
27 November 2013 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

I always love this episode where Nellie returns for a visit with her family. It's interesting seeing both Nellie and Nancy together. It's also easy to see that Nancy is a lot worse than Nellie ever was! I've said it before, so I won't rehash, but I just think Nancy has evilness whereas Nellie had...well...bad child-rearing!

Nellie goes around and rehashes old times with all her friends. She's so happy so see everyone and is so sweet, but no matter how sweet she is, Nancy hates her and nothing will ever change her.

I tried...I really did...to feel sorry for Nancy at the party, but I couldn't! Nancy is a spoiled little rich girl who needs spankings from her mother and a hard lesson in life. Though she was happy when her sister and father found her, I don't think she really learned anything from it.

This will be the last time we see Nellie.
