Love Almanzo!
11 October 2013 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

This is another really funny episodes.

It's a battle of wills. Charles thinks Almanzo is still too wet behind the ears to know anything and Almanzo would love to take Charles down a peg or two when it comes to his declaration of being older and wiser. That's why they has a plan when they start their freight business. Almanzo wants to take the "other" road to Sleepy Eye, but Charles tries to tell him that's a longer route.

After Almanzo and Laura goes home, Charles tries to find some insurance to make sure he beats the young know-it-all to Sleepy Eye so he decides to go across the prairie.

The race begins. They both get their pride shot down a peg or two. It's a comical chain of events as they both learn why the road (or path) less traveled is indeed the wrong way!

Charles shows his evil side in this episode. First he lies to Almanzo, then he lies to Caroline, then he talks Almanzo into both of them lying to their wives. Lesson learned: Lying is never the answer. Perhaps they both came out of this experience a bit wiser...
