Trivia

While Caroline's father is not shown in the flashbacks, it could be the possibility that at the time, her biological father had died, and her mother had not remarried yet. See more »

Goofs

At the end of the episode, Caroline puts on her dressing gown to go outside to meet Charles. You can clearly see heavy rain through the bedroom window, but when she goes outside, there's no rain and everything appears dry. See more »

Quotes

Lansford Ingalls: Charles never said a word to me, but his brother did. And I'm telling you that if I ever hear from anyone that you've laid a finger on him without justification, I will personally come to your school and thrash you in front of your entire class. Do I make myself clear?

Young Charles the troublemaker!
14 July 2013 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

I think it's very interesting to see Matthew Labyorteaux playing young Charles. After all, in just a few episodes he will be a permanent face on the show as he plays the Ingalls' adopted son, Albert. Interestingly, they stayed consistent in making this person young Charles. I always thought he looked a lot like Charles.

So in this episode, Charles and his brother along with their parents have just moved to the place where Caroline's family lives. Caroline is immediately smitten with Charles and feels sorry for him with the schoolmaster - another famous actor - Sorrell Booke - who played Boss Hogg on Dukes of Hazzard -- mistreats Charles. Charles' father sets things straight, however.

The story is shown in a sequence of scenes as Caroline waits for Charles to get home in time to celebrate their anniversary. And we do see that Charles remembers when at other times he doesn't.

This is a sweet story. There's no tragic scenes in this episode, though it is interesting to see Boss Hogg beating Charles...
