The only funny episode in a terrible series

If you want to know what this show is about, watch this one. This is what the show could've been or should've been.

There's a bit of a story, actual jokes, but overall it's not enough to make it a great episode. This one, the best episode, should've been the worst one.

The problems with this show are many - he's too much of a loser. The post- Seinfeld curse is not some gypsy spell or Red Sox thing, but the fact that many shows tried to do the same thing when it's already been done. Julia got typecast at first, Jason got typecast and so did Jerry Stiller. It was a mixed bag. Frank Costanza's insanity was taken to the next level in King of Queens (where it worked wonderfully), but he wasn't the main character. But here, they tried to do the loser George thing where his kids hate him, his wife, God knows why she married him, and he's just a schmuck.

George Costanza had a charm to him, he had intelligence, he was witty, he was funny, he was a good friend, he was unpredictable ("greetings and salutations"). Here we get a distilled version of George with no nuances.

This episode, however, was funny in that he actually tried to get his wife's attention. It connects his career and his job insecurities with his home and family life.

If you watch one episode of this show, make it this one.

Quest for Fire.

Warning: Spoilers
Has its moments, but weak overall. Initially clever, but turns to ludicrousness, without ever being daring. Spark plug Megan, barely in it as well.
