After suffering a concussion in a car accident on the Oregon coast, Stephen Elliott is carried to the home of an old man and his beautiful daughter-in-law to recover. The young woman tells Stephen that her husband, a World War II pilot, had died the year before and left an uncompleted musical composition, a model airplane and a piece of sculpture, as well as a strange will. Years later, Stephen has become famous as a sculptor and he meets two other men who had survived serious crashes near the same lighthouse, recovered in Allison's home and gone on to remarkable careers in music and aircraft design. Stephen decides he must learn if this was merely coincidence or whether Allison's husband's will might have some connection with the three men's subsequent brilliant careers. Did You Know?

[first lines]
Narrator: Hello. Did you ever inherit anything? It is a bit of a nuisance, isn't it? Sitting around a stuffy old law office while the attorney reads your old Uncle Ezra's last will and testament. But sometimes it's quite different. Sometimes you inherit things you can't even see, from people you don't even know, so beware the strange legacy. Lights out!

Weird...but in a good way.
22 November 2012 | by (Bradenton, Florida) – See all my reviews

This episode of "Lights Out" begins with two men having an auto accident. The driver (Robert Stack) says he did NOT fall asleep but was blinded by a light. Following this, he meets and falls in love with the lady of the house where they take shelter. It's IMPOSSIBLE that he fell for her so quickly--and you soon find out that perhaps it's all unreal, as Stack then awakens and you learn that none of what happened after the accident actually happened (or did it?). Regardless, five years pass and now Stack is a brilliant sculptor and he meets two other highly creative men who, it turns out, ALSO had the exact same accident in the same place (Chester Bay)!! Obviously something supernatural is taking place. What and why? See the show for yourself.

This show stars Robert Stack and it deserves kudos for being highly original and fascinating. Not one of the best of the series, but certainly one of the better ones and well worth downloading for free at

By the way, this show really made good use of the theramin to provide a spooky soundtrack--listen and marvel.
