First broadcast episode of the TV series stars Dan Haggerty as James "Grizzly" Adams, who lives deep in the wilderness in the 1850's at a self-made cabin. This episode, a young girl named Eliza Bowker(played by Kristen Curry) is traveling by wagon with her parents when her curiosity gets her lost, and after Adams' pet bear Ben saves her from a mountain lion, takes her back to his cabin where she befriends Adams, and proceeds to clean house! Eliza starts to really like living this life, but realizes that she must reunite with her worried parents. Fine start to the series is wonderful family entertainment, regardless of how simple the plot is.
