After his initial unfriendly reception in Tombstone, Wyatt wires his brothers that Pima County isn't a suitable area for the Earps to set up a cattle ranch. However, Nellie Cashman and Dick Gird who represents the miners ask Wyatt to stay on to bring law and order to Tombstone and even agree to let the disreputable Doc help him. Meanwhile, Emma Clanton tries to convince Wyatt to work with the Clantons but Wyatt declines. Wyatt discovers that the Clantons and their allies are determined to kill him on the road to Benson, so he, Doc Holliday and a group of miners lay a trap which results in multiple casualties among the cowboys. In order to officially arrest Clanton for attempted murder, Wyatt agrees to become a deputy marshal plus he learns his resignation as a US Deputy Marshal has been declined. There is still the matter of finding a judge who is not corrupt. Written by David Bassler

Did You Know?

Miner: He just walked with Emma Clanton up Allen Street.
Doc Holliday: Is she still with him?
Miner: No, she just left town - and mad.
Doc Holliday: Couldn't set him up, huh? Is Wyatt still out there?
Miner: Yeah.
Doc Holliday: You go tell Dick Gird that Wyatt will be on one side of the street and I'll be on the other. You got the miners stationed in the shafts?
Miner: Sure, but I thought you and Earp had a fight.
Doc Holliday: Nothing unusual about that. Wyatt and I are always havin' fights.
