- Two killers of the Dry Gulcher Gang have been eliminated but two are still at large. Wyatt will get them at any cost. To this end he leaves for Texas and goes on pursuing them, with the support of some local Texas Rangers.
- After Earp is able to have two of the four members of the he captured indicted and held without bail for the first degree murder of Mr. Brother, he makes plans to capture the other two members. They are hiding out in northern Texas so he contacted his friend Texas Ranger Captain Langley to help him. Even though Earp is a northerner, Langley is willing to help due to Earp helping Langley in the past. Earp and Bat take the Dry Gulcher Dick Averill with them as bait to draw out Sam Wilson and Rupe Prentice. Wilson and Prentice pay a group of outlaws $100 to draw the Texas Rangers away while they return to their outlaw camp. Earp and Bat find the Rangers in a gunfight so they agree to meet at the Bracos Tavern. There Earp and Bat gun down a couple of outlaws but Wilson and Prentice are still able to free Averill. However, the three outlaws run into Young Wolf and his men who retake Averill and capture Wilson. Earp has to take action before the Rangers catch the Cheyenne off the reservation and he still has Prentice to capture.—Anonymous
