Storyline

Mr. Ellidge and Mr. Johnson come to Dodge City with their henchmen hoping to put the blame for the loss at the Little Big Horn on the Army and Capt. Benteen. The two men contributed to the outrage of the Indians with their crooked dealings. Capt. Benteen feels he deserves punishment because he technically violated an order but Earp and the Captain's wife tell him it was Custer's fault for going against an enemy with massively superior numbers. Ellidge plans to use Mr. Cousin and Mr. Brother along with other soldiers he has captured from the fight to blame Benteen and the Army. Earp plays along with him in order to rescue his two Indian friends and the soldiers. The soldiers don't blame Benteen but the poor equipment and size of the enemy. Earp, Bat and the two Indians help Benteen take out Ellidge's group who are planning to ambush Benteen and the the others. Earp and Benteen's men wipe out Ellidge's group with Bat and Earp taking the responsibility for shooting Ellidge and Johnson ... Written by Anonymous

Quotes

Narrator: The Battle of the Little Big Horn in June 1876 was the worst defeat suffered by the white man in his long fight with the Indians. The news of this disaster had repercussions in Dodge City and other frontier towns. Custer's bitter critics were a handful of civilians who worked for the Indian Bureau. But the hoodlum element had an old score to settle with the Army, for it was the Army that tried to stop them from cheating their Indian wards.
