Tom McLowery's new wife Aithra from Chicago dislikes the lonely ranch life so she persuades Tom to let them move to Tombstone. Frank dislikes the idea as it will hurt their relationship with the Clantons. However, Old Man Clanton decides it might be a good way to put his empty OK Corral to work by letting her run it and them live in a house next door. Curly Brocius, however, hates any advantage the McLowerys might get with Old Man Clanton. Mayor Clum wants Earp to run the McLowerys out of town but Earp refuses. The stable hand Ryan finds a man hanging in the stable forcing Earp and Doc to arrest Tom and Frank. Aithra helps by turning their guns over to Earp. The body has been dead for days plus Earp believes the McLowerys would simply shoot an enemy. He believes a landowner Captain Rowland may have hanged the man and someone hung the body in the stable later. He sends Doc to check with Rowland while Old Man Clanton prepares to break the McLowerys out of jail using a stagecoach holdup ... Written by Anonymous

Wyatt Earp: [Opening Narration] Wyatt Earp's insistence that the law must be fair placed him at a disadvantage in the fight to hold Tombstone against the Clantons. Typical of Wyatt's refusal to use unfair methods was his clash with Tom and Frank McLowery, a strict adherence to the law that was to lead sometime in the future to the famous battle of the O.K. Corral.
