Storyline

Earp's Cheyenne friends Mr. Cousin and Mr. Brother are ambushed by four men. Mr. Brother is killed and Mr. Cousin severely wounded. Earp and Masterson leave to track the killers. They find the location of the ambush but the killers have gone in four directions. They spot a rider saying a band of Indians are after him. Earp recognizes their leader who shows him a paper from the Indian Agent which gives the names of the four men who make up the Dry Gulch Gang. One of the men stops at a cattle drive camp where the cook tells him Mr. Cousin is still alive. He meets with one of the other four who tells him to go Dodge City disguised to finish the job. Quotes

Wyatt Earp: [Opening Narration] Marshal Earp's good friends were Mr. Cousin and Mr. Brother, Cheyenne Indians who had left their tribal group to serve as scouts for the Army and valued advisors for Marshal Earp. Wyatt has been much criticized for his wide variety of friends and his absolute loyalty to them. But friendship with Indians was beyond the pale. As Dodge City said in 1879, 'Injuns' weren't even people.
