Storyline

Flashbacks tell the story of a charming but irresponsible ex-husband who re-enters the lives of his wife and son. The father/son relationship is similar to that of Gloria's son and her first husband on the series, "Modern Family." In this episode, Young's character's name is "Ginger," a decade before her co-star, Alan Hale Jr., addressed Tina Louise by the name on "Gilligan's Island." Written by Greg Ehrbar

Loretta as a struggling mother who did her best to provide for her son when they were both abandoned by her husband, his father.

Suddenly after 15 years, the father returns and has now re-married. The second wife wears a mink coat and now the father promises the son the world if the latter will come live with him. Excited and taken in by the promises, the boy at first says yes.

The episode goes to prove the wisdom of youth by the son, overnight, remembering how his mother sacrificed for him at a time the father was away. The son has a different answer when the father comes to pick him up.
