The big surprise here to me is Ted De Corsia, who always played a heavy and much of a villain on the big and small screen, shows up in this very good episode as a calm, cool-mannered physician who besides being Loretta's doctor, advises her regarding her failing marriage.
When their son is struck and critically injured by a truck, Loretta knew to call where her husband was during the day-with another woman.
While their son is in surgery, the two go over their failing marriage and of course there is a positive end both with the boy and the marriage.
How often emergencies resolve other difficulties.
