When Ward tells Wally and Beaver that Mr. Compton is a lawyer for Ward's company, this is a clue that Ward himself is not a lawyer. This is finally confirmed once and for all when Ward is asked if he is a lawyer, and answers in the negative, in Box Office Attraction (1963).
When the New York modeling agency writes back to Beaver, their letterhead shows an address of 6295 Madison Avenue, New York, NY. This is a fictitious address, as the numbers on Madison where it ends at 138th Street and the Harlem River only go up into the 2200s.
