Iron Cloud wants his people to live on a reservation so they can hunt and not just farm. An old Army nemesis, brokering the deal, may not give him his wish. His brother intervenes to ensure the Sioux are provided what has been promised.

Chief Torn Cloud has come to Laramie to meet with Gen. Iron Jack Mider to end the fighting and move to a reservation. However, many on the whites feel the Indians are no better than animals. Joshua Haney who has lived his life with the Sioux is against the proposed treaty and is spurred to act when he hears the comments by the men in the Birdcage. His wife and kids were killed by soldiers in the Indian wars. Troop arrests him to keep the peace but he uses his rawhide shirt and water to escape jail. He steals some dynamite and tries to kill the general but Troops warns everyone. When Haney tries to dynamite the meeting, Chief Torn Cloud is forced to stop him with a lance. The general then realizes that the Indians have saved his life, are not as bad as he thought, and truly want peace. Written by Anonymous
