Storyline
When Walter Perkins buys two $25 bottles of champagne, everyone learns he is getting married to a woman he met via the Heart & Hand catalog. She arrives in mourning black with a heavy veil. After two weeks, banker Oren Stauson reports Walter missing. Troop investigates and finds evidence that Walter is probably dead and the woman is gone along with Walter's $5,000. Investigation turns up two other reports of similar incidents in other locations across the country. Oren is willing to put up money for Troop to pose as a Cheyenne man looking for a wife. They place an ad stating he has $15,000 resulting in contact with the suspect. Troop, Lily, and Johnny go to Cheyenne where Troop meets the woman in black at the stage and takes her to the hotel. A nervous Lily checks on Dan after he is knocked out by the man posing as a woman. She shouts to Johnny in the street to catch the man with a carpet bag. Written by

Goofs
Dan is talking to Johnny about where the catalog woman has been, and mentions Arkansas and "Dakota". North and South Dakota did not become states until 1889, so this was the correct reference to the Dakota territory in 1879-1882 Laramie. Later while talking to Johnny, Lily, and the banker, Dan refers to "the Dakotas" which would not have been correct circa 1882, but would have been in 1961 when filming.
