When Bill tries to make the deposit, the fifty dollars is missing and Bucknell accuses Bill of stealing it. When Bucknell tries to search Bill, Bill strikes Bucknell and the bank manager, Mr. Watson, has Bill charged with attempted murder. No one will pay Bill's bail until his brother returns to pay it.
