A man comes to town on the stage, invited there as a piano player to work for Lily. He also brings a history one man seems determined to make him pay for - with Troop standing in the way.

Vint Fell, a buffalo hunter and union vet, is in Laramie after a hunt. Reed Smith who is an accomplished piano player arrives to play at the Birdcage. He led a patrol in the Civil War, which included Fell's brother, but he was the only man to return and Fell wants revenge. Troop tries to persuade Smith to leave Larmie but he has quit drinking and intends to stay which Lily says he can do as long as he is sober. Fell along with several friends come to tar Smith forcing Troop to stop him. Fell who respects and served with Troop, forces Troop to defend himself when Fell pulls his gun. Written by Anonymous
