Storyline

As the beautiful Jenny Miles steps out of the stagecoach, Deputy Johnny McKay is immediately smitten. He escorts her to the milliner shop she is taking over. After helping her clean the shop, she asks Johnny about the Birdcage which he agrees to take her to to meet Troop and Lily. After they leave the Birdcage, Jeff Hacker a dealer at the Birdcage asks to leave early as he knows Jenny. Later that evening Johnny confronts Jeff when he finds him arguing with Jenny. After several days of courtship, Johnny asks Jenny to marry him but Lily and Troop are worried Johnny doesn't know Jenny well. Jenny tells Lily the true mark of a man is his willingness to die for her. When their engagement is announced Jeff challenges Johnny and shoots at him as Jenny comes out of her store upon hearing the ruckus. Jenny is hit and asks for Jeff instead of Johnny as she dies. Trivia

When Johnny asks for a raise due to getting married, Dan says he'll put in for another $20/month. Dan was hired at $60/month, and Johnny at $50/month. If this had gone through, Johnny would be making more money as Deputy than Dan was making as Marshal. See more »

Split Personality Siren Brings Doom
31 January 2013 | by (Valencia, Spain) – See all my reviews

This was a bit of an odd episode that went into the psychological and sociopathic issues that were popular in a lot of the TV shows of this era.

The Girl from Grantsville arrives, and she immediately throws herself at Johnny McKay, who is always looking for love in all the wrong places.

In just a few days, Johnny is making plans to marry her, and she is all for it. Then along comes her childhood sweetheart, with whom she has made other plans for marriage. Who does she love?

She loves them both of course. Johnny and the other guy confront each other a few times, and during the finale, a somewhat predictable ending happens. Yet, do we ever know for sure who the girl loves? Why was she such a flake? There are more questions than answers at the end of this episode.
