An issue of trust, a picture of fright
12 August 2014 | by (Buffalo, New York) – See all my reviews

Elpidia Carrillo dominates this SVU episode about a woman scared to death of her former drug dealer boyfriend. Seeing Louie Leonardo as the drug dealer she's got every right to be.

The story opens with her dropping off her younger son with a bullet in him at a hospital and then fleeing with her older one to parts unknown. A child victim brings the SVU squad in, especially after they see a history of old healed injuries.

It gets worse and it's an issue of trust because Carrillo isn't that fond of the police. She has a pair of keystone narcotic cops who are supposed to be guarding her and they do a job that only Mack Sennett or Captain Lasard could appreciate. Along the way that younger son is smothered to death in the hospital.

Carrillo should have had Emmy consideration for what she does in this story.
