Trivia

Loosely based on the 1999 Hillsdale College scandal (in the episode, the college is Midville). Note that the leading credits are slightly different, admitting the "loosely based" premise of the story. The highly conservative president of Hillsdale College, George Roche III, was found to have had an affair with his daughter-in-law. In the episode, the daughter-in-law is killed whereas in real-life, her death was found to be a suicide. Both stories involve a president of a conservative college in a small town having an affair with a daughter-in-law. See more »

Hadley Family Values
9 March 2013 | by (Buffalo, New York) – See all my reviews

Father and son Robert and Bo Foxworth play father and son Ben Hadley senior and junior on this episode of SVU. The two are a college professor of a fundamentalist Christian college and his son who is a pale reflection of dad. The SVU squad gets involved with these two and senior Hadley's wife Anne Twomey who is the mother of Hadley junior when junior's wife is murdered in a New York hotel. The Medical Examiner shows that she had recent sex before the homicide.

Robert Foxworth played two of the slimiest people on different episodes of Law And Order prime and continues his string of villainy with his portrayal of Ben Hadley on SVU. This man has more skeletons in the closet than a medical school. Once again Foxworth will creep you out.

Richard Belzer has some good lines as the show's resident liberal who gets a few shots in at Foxworth. And Benson and Stabler get into a nasty turf war with the Robbery squad and in the process clear a serial burglar whom they thought might have been their perpetrator and arrest him for the crimes he did commit.

Foxworth, a villain you look forward to hating.
