One seriously disturbed child
30 July 2014 | by (Buffalo, New York) – See all my reviews

A lot of SVU episodes take on some controversial issues. A lot of them simply exploit them for sensationalism. Sadly this is one of the latter.

The SVU squad catches the case of a young teen way below consent age found dead in an SRO hotel. A whole lot of leads dry up as they try to find out her identity, but in the end it is revealed she's the daughter of Judge Keir Dullea who has the reputation on the bench as a hanging judge.

Later on someone takes a shot and wounds Judge Dullea. After that it's a lot of dirty family linen, in fact this family might have taken up spiritual residence in a coal mine. The most serious thing is that Dullea had sex with her starting at age 11. Enough to make any kid, one seriously disturbed child.

Dullea also goes way back with Dann Florek who cannot believe his old friend capable of all this. DNA doesn't lie however.

Not up to the usual SVU standard, a little too sensational and exploitive.
