Trivia

In one scene, Benson is turned off by her date, a crime reporter, when he wants to roleplay the subway rapes that she is investigating. Tom McCarthy, who plays Nick in the scene, earned critical acclaim in 2015, including an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay in 2016, for writing and directing Spotlight (2015), a dramatization of investigative journalists from the Boston Globe uncovering the scandal and cover-up of child molestation and sexual abuse in the local Catholic archdiocese. Graduated to rape
5 September 2014 | by (Buffalo, New York) – See all my reviews

This episode of SVU has the squad in search of a rapist, one who has recently graduated to rape. Previously he had been a subway groper and there are a lot of his victims out there. The squad only has managed to link eight other subway gropings to this victim.

At first they have the wrong guy. Not that Bruce Bohne from South Dakota hasn't a few issues, but he turns out to be the wrong guy for this guy and the other victims are not real good on picking him or anyone else out of a lineup.

It's amazing how some perpetrators think they've got some kind of cosmic connection to their victims. When they finally get the right guy Sal Viscuso he has a climatic confrontation scene with his victim that will freak you out as much as the victim.
