Storyline

A girl, Carly Hunter, is kidnapped on her way home from school. The abductor's van is quickly found, with the girl's blood in it. One suspect, a paroled pedophile, accidentally kills himself running from Det. Stabler. Hoping that evidence from the van will help locate Carly, Stabler talks to the medical examiner, Dr. Warner. She tells Stabler that Carly is probably alive (the blood is from a nosebleed), but that she's also got an undiagnosed case of leukemia and needs to be found as soon as possible. Warner elects to go to the Hunters and tell them about Carly's condition. While there, the kidnapper calls and demands $300,000 ransom and no police. He can view the apartment somehow, and asks who Warner is. She convinces the kidnapper that she's Carly's doctor. She then goes to an interior bathroom and calls SVU. They sneak in and are there when ransom delivery directions are faxed, demanding that Warner be the delivery person. Stabler goes along (in a car trunk), and watches the ... Written by Tony-B4

Towards the end, Jake is exuding blood from both sides of his mouth when Warner inserts the tube into his lung. When Danny apologizes, blood is only shown on his left side of his mouth and the flow of blood is not present on the right. No staining or evidence is there outside of the initial spurts when he coughed it up. See more »

Dr. Melinda Warner (Tamara Tunie) assists Elliot on this case...
8 September 2009 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

After a young girl was kidnapped on the way home from school and her blood is found in a van, Dr. Melinda Warner (Tamara Tunie) discovers that the girl has leukemia. Dr. Warner goes to discuss this with the parents and quickly becomes involved in the case since the kidnapper calls while Warner is at the parents' home. It's nice to watch Tamara Tunie in this episode as she works with Elliot Stabler to try to find the missing girl and then the kidnapper.

Special Victims Unit became my favorite television series many years ago for several reasons, but mainly because of the excellent writing and acting. I can usually not only guess what is going to happen in a movie (or TV show), but can even predict the actual dialogue. That gets old. With Special Victims Unit, you never know what's going to happen, which is great! As for the actors and actresses, this is a fabulous cast of both.
