The picture that Elias draws changes between his session with Dr. Olivet and his being on the stand in the court room.
ADA Cabot goes to her boss to talk about Elias, while there he says that he assigned "Machete's" trial to McCoy. Cabot's boss is Chief Assistant District Attorney Charlie Phillips, as his title indicates he is one of the bureau chiefs, meaning his is in charge of the bureau of the DA's office in charge of prosecuting sex crimes, there are actually a number of bureau chiefs in the DA's office. McCoy however is the Executive Assistant District Attorney, of which there is only one, he is the highest ranking ADA in the office and is the District Attorney's second in command. Which means McCoy outranks Phillips, and everyone else in the office, except for DA Nora Lewin. So Phillips would not be assigning cases to McCoy, but rather the other way around.
When Cabot makes her statement on the courthouse steps about the cycle of violence, her lips very visibly do not match the words she is saying.
As Cabot and Olivet discuss the case implications in Olivet's office, the tip of the microphone comes into view for a brief moment at the top of the screen.
