Twas Beauties Killed By Two Beasts
2 July 2008 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

This was murder-by-poison story but really, it was a pathetic tale of a daughter taught by her sick mother that beauty meant everything, and a connecting story of a dentist who also lived by that credo.

All this shallowness led to two brutal murders in which two pretty ladies were given dioxin, a poison that not only killed them in a few days but changed their looks into something grotesque.

This was an interesting study of behavior, obsession, wrong values and a whole lot more. It was very good right from the start, and not one of these episodes in which the viewer was totally lost for 30-40 minutes until the puzzle began to become clearer. No, here, we wind up with two suspects early on with one of them guilty of something of which there is no doubt, and there are a few good twists with these killings. The story ends with satisfying conclusions regarding all the people involved.

It's simply a good show, a good story, and some fine acting and interesting dialog by all those involved.

As usual, Vincent D'Onofrio and Kathyrn Erbe are excellent in the leads with "Goren" supplying brains and some compassion and "Eames" suppling additional brains and sarcastic comments.
