Plot Summary

  • In broad daylight, a soap opera star is found beaten and robbed in Central Park and literally left for dead. Cerretta and Logan soon learn that it was much more than a robbery and soon led to an obsessed fan, who's been writing to her and buying up all memorabilia pertaining to her.

  • Detectives Cerreta and Logan investigate the vicious beating of Lucy Neven, a major daytime soap opera star. The woman was found in the park and left for dead. The detectives soon enter the world of obsessed fans and memorabilia collectors. They eventually end up talking to Jesse Unger who followed Neven, wrote to her and would pay top dollar for any memorabilia he could find. He's charged with murder but soon pleads temporary insanity. ADA Stone knows the young man needs help but is satisfied that Unger knew right from wrong at the time he beat her. He suspects that the boy's father has told him exactly what to say to get off and has to weigh the option of a plea bargain to get Unger behind bars.
