  • Briscoe and Green investigate the murder of James Foley, a drug dealer. Foley was actually a confidential informant for the narcotics bureau, which may have given many people a motive to kill him. They find the fingerprints of Luke Campbell in Foley's apartment. More importantly, they find evidence that his brother Bobby, who has been in prison for 12 years, may have been framed for a murder Foley may have committed. It turns out the head of the NYPD fingerprint section, Lisa Russo, may have been stretching the truth in favor of the prosecution to get convictions. The FBI lab reviews 20 of her cases and finds that a third of the samples they've been given cannot be confirmed. McCoy charges her with manslaughter over the death in prison of someone who was falsely convicted in large part due to her testimony.
