The "law" side involves a born-again Christian whose lawyer argues that since his conversion he has lived a good life, and he should not be charged with a murder from 9 years earlier. The plot hole here is that true born-again Christians accept responsibility for crimes involving man's law such as murder. Jesus made reference to this separation of man's law and God's law in giving to Cesar what is Cesar's, and to God what is God's. As such, the defendant by his own testimony could not support the motion filed by his attorney. See more
