Storyline

When a female Japanese tourist is killed, her husband who survives, claims that they were attacked by some black men. An investigation ensues into the possibility that the man wanted to kill his wife to collect the insurance. But when the man goes back to Japan and extradition is impossible, Branch decides to make false statements to trick the man into returning.

The trial judge's name changes throughout the episode. When we first meet him, the caption identifies him as "Harrison Taylor". Later, we see that the name on his office door is "Thomas Sommers". In the final scenes, as the verdict is being read, the name plate on his bench reads "Thomas Everton".
