I can't help but wonder if Laverne was assaulted because of her tear clothing. I don't know that wasn't the main point of the episode. Still. The convent part is amusing.

Laverne bangs a ship full of men one night, (yes a whole ship!) and feeling guilty the next morning, goes to church to confess her slutty wanton sins. She's told to stay at a monastery for a couple of weeks for penance and while there proceeds to act like a fool and shows no respect for the church.
While in a bell tower after being instructed to work the bells, rather than do what she's there for (penance for banging a whole ship full of men), she stuffs a pillow in her back and acts like the Hunchback of Notre Dame while ringing all the different bells in the tower.
Why on earth she does this if she's there to absolve herself of her sins is a mystery. And she's all alone while doing it so it's not like someone goaded her to do it. It's not funny and you wonder why she's doing it because in the start of the show she was all serious of making up for banging a whole ship full of men. Can you imagine Pop getting word of this?!
If she's not going to take her penance seriously, she has no business being there. It's not until the end of the episode that she finally gets serious and speaks to God saying she doesn't like what she's becoming...I guess Shirley was a good influence on her and kept her from being a gigantic ho for all those years.
Shirley's barely gone a couple of months and she's already doing a whole fleet of men in one night lol. What is wrong with her?!
These bizarre episodes in the final season really make me miss Shirley so bad. And making Laverne bang a whole ship of men had to be risque for this show even if it was all off camera. Too bad they didn't make het pregnant from it. What a series finale that could've been.
