I never heard of The Spinners until I saw the episode. I like their music.

The Spinners and a Chimp

When sitcoms bring on a chimp you know the series is on it's last legs, and this sitcom is crawling in sheer agony to it's finish line. I had to FF through most of the episode because I just can't watch anymore of this dreck in real time. It's that bad at this point. Cindy Williams must have been thanking her lucky stars to be off this mess!
What I saw through the FF was the chimp running around with Pop and Laverne singing and dancing on stage with the Spinners. The only interesting part was the very end when the long time waitress we always see in the background finally had a speaking part, and we learn her name is Mary.
Since i've always seen her working in the background and never speaking, I was enthralled to see her speak, but she stormed out quickly and that was that. She was the most interesting and entertaining part of the show. Too bad she didn't get to do any more. I guess all the regulars have jumped this sinking ship at this point that they decided to throw her a few lines. I bet she was thrilled lol. Another 1 star crap fest.
