A Pick-up of the Later Ming Dynasty

I have no idea why Marina would go to a second hand shop for a hairnet.

Auntie Wainwright's would not be the first place that would come to my head for such an item.

Still it allows Roy Clarke slip in his plot device without hopefully anyone noticing. Marina ends up with a camouflage net, something she and Howard can hide under.

The net also comes useful for Tom when the repo man comes looking for him.

The absence of Wesley is noticeable in this episode. Two people have car trouble including Barry. Glenda makes no mention of her dad. Instead the AA man is called.

Entwistle charms other regulars with his ancient wisdom from Hull. He also has trouble with his motor but is unwilling to spend any money. Entwistle does help Barry to sober up as he gets drunk again.

I didn't rate this one.

Smiler tries hard to mend a squeak on the hand cart, but naturally when the group of fellas meet up and get chatting, everything stops for a pint.....or five.

It's an episode where literally nothing happens, it is absolutely devoid of any notable moments or funny scenes. A few decent moments, the opening few minutes are funny, where an innocent Marina wanders into the clutches of Auntie. Two characters we don't see together often, it was always going to be interesting to see what she came away with. I did chuckle at Howard and Marina's emergency net acting.

Good drunken acting from Mike Grady, I love the effects that a single pint of dark can have on someone in sitcom land. A pint of dark has clearly made him catatonic.

There are two many characters on show for most of the episode, there isn't a focus, and too many of them are stood around silent.

Pretty poor I thought, 5/10.
