Storyline

It's the annual Sunday Shoot in Laramie and it's drawn shooters from miles around, all vying for the $1000 prize. Hobie Carson and his intended, Nancy Telford, are counting on winning so they can buy a bottom land farm, but they are mountain folk unused to ways of town. Rafe Seton is a man of unsavory reputation who is also competing against Slim Sherman and Jess Harper and there is bad blood between Seton and Slim. When Hobie wins, it becomes a tale of the country mouse as Seton and his cronies set up the young man to steal his winnings, to the dismay of Nancy. Rafe along with his female partner Dixie con Hobie into thinking they are his friends making him believe he is a big man in Laramie while Nancy wants to leave. It's up to Slim and Jess to help Hobie and Nancy especially when Seton wants Slim dead. Written by DarSpi

An eye like Sergeant York
26 May 2017 | by (Buffalo, New York) – See all my reviews

Burt Brinckerhoff and Jena Engstrom head to Laramie for the annual shooting contest where Burt who has a shooting eye like Sergeant York hopes to win the prize money for a down payment just like Gary Cooper wanted on some bottom land. The two were raised in the mountains and are more than slightly naive. But her father Dan White tells her to look up Slim Sherman in Laramie as he and Brinckerhoff's dad and Slim's dad all came to the country at the same time.

There's unfortunately another guy who wants to look up John Smith. Gregory Walcott is fresh out of the penitentiary for selling guns to the Indians and Smith's testimony helped put him there. He's also a crack shot in town for the shooting contest and looking for some pay back.

You have their the ingredients of a nice Laramie story. John Smith has such a hatred for Walcott that he makes a couple of false starts here. It's all that the sheriff Stuart Randall has to do from keeping them apart. Of course it all works out in the end.

I'd watch this one.
