Slim finds Virg has $200 of new bills in serial number order that he is sure is part of the stolen money. Virg gives his word to not escape on the way to Laramie but at the first camp he tries to knock out Slim and escape. The fight is interrupted by the grizzled old prospector Cletus McBain who helps Slim after determining he believes Slim over Virg. That night when a rattlesnake nearly strikes the sleeping Slim, Virg yells and Cletus kills the snake. The next day Slim learns more about Virg on the road. They run into a young talkative girl, Ginny Malone, stranded with a broken wagon. They end up camping in a cave during a sand storm where Slim is blindsided the next morning. Written by Anonymous
